Working with Lekkahub

Still unsure? Ask us directly; you will get an answer from an engineer.

What does Lekkahub do?

Lekkahub is a Harare-based technology consultancy. We build and run cloud platforms on AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, Oracle Cloud, Hetzner, DigitalOcean and bare metal; set up DevOps pipelines; cut cloud costs; prepare systems for the Cyber and Data Protection Act; implement Odoo ERP; build custom software and integrations; and automate back-office work with AI.

Who is Lekkahub for?

Zimbabwean organisations that depend on their systems but do not want a large IT department: financial services, healthcare, BPO, property, multi-country operations and membership organisations.

Is Lekkahub a reseller?

No. We are an independent engineering consultancy. You buy cloud services and licences in your own name; we design, build and operate them.

Where are you based?

Harare, Zimbabwe. We work on-site in Harare and remotely across the region.

How do we start?

Send a message on the contact page or WhatsApp. The first consultation is free and you speak directly with the engineer who would do the work.

Can one company really do cloud, DevOps, security and ERP?

Yes, because they meet in the same places: an ERP needs hosting, backups and integrations; a cloud platform needs pipelines, security and cost control. One engineer across them removes the hand-offs where problems start.

Do you work with small businesses or large ones?

Both. Our base is growing businesses that do not want to build an IT department, and we also take on larger organisations, usually by referral.

Can you work alongside our IT team?

Yes. Many engagements strengthen an in-house team: building with them, reviewing their work and handing over.

Cloud engineering

Still unsure? Ask us directly; you will get an answer from an engineer.

Which cloud should a Zimbabwean company use?

There is no single answer. AWS is our default for production systems that need managed services, Azure suits Microsoft-centred organisations, Google Cloud suits data-heavy and Workspace teams, and Hetzner or bare metal suit cost-sensitive or in-country workloads. We recommend per workload.

Can our data stay in Zimbabwe?

Yes, if needed, by hosting on bare metal in a local data centre or on your own premises. We are not aware of any major public cloud running a region in Zimbabwe today; the nearest AWS region is Cape Town.

We buy Azure through a reseller. Can you still help?

Yes. We can design and build on Azure. Cost optimisation is easier when you have billing console access, so we will tell you what your reseller arrangement allows.

Are you a partner of any cloud provider?

Lekkahub is independent and not currently a tiered partner of any cloud provider. That keeps our recommendations neutral. We will say plainly if a project needs a tiered partner.

Who owns the accounts and code?

You do. Accounts and subscriptions are in your name and code lives in your repository.

Topic

DevOps and platform engineering

Still unsure? Ask us directly; you will get an answer from an engineer.

What is the difference between DevOps and cloud engineering?

Cloud engineering is about where your systems run and how they are connected. DevOps and platform engineering is about how changes get from a developer's laptop to production safely and repeatably.

Do we need Kubernetes?

Not always. For a handful of services, a managed container service is often simpler. We recommend Kubernetes when the number of services, teams or environments justifies it.

Can you work with our existing developers?

Yes. Most of this work is done alongside your team so they own the result.

We use GitLab, not GitHub. Is that a problem?

No. We work with both, including self-hosted GitLab.

Topic

Custom software and integrations

Still unsure? Ask us directly; you will get an answer from an engineer.

Do you build mobile apps?

When they sit on business systems, such as a resident or member app over an ERP. We are not a studio for consumer app ideas.

Who owns the code?

You do, from the first commit.

Can you integrate with our bank or payment provider?

We have built middleware to core banking (T24) and payment systems. Each provider has its own onboarding, which we handle with you.

Do you take fixed-price projects?

Yes, when the scope is clear. Otherwise we work in agreed phases.

Topic

Managed cloud operations

Still unsure? Ask us directly; you will get an answer from an engineer.

How is this different from cloud engineering?

Cloud engineering builds or migrates the platform. Managed operations keeps it healthy every month afterwards.

Do you offer 24/7 support?

Cover hours are agreed per client in writing. [STATE STANDARD COVER HOURS AND RESPONSE TIMES]

Do we have to give you full admin access?

No. We start read-only and request specific permissions for specific changes, reviewed regularly.

Can you take over a platform someone else built?

Yes. We start with an assessment and a stabilisation plan before taking on day-to-day operations.

Topic

Security and data protection

Still unsure? Ask us directly; you will get an answer from an engineer.

Do we need a POTRAZ data controller licence?

Under Statutory Instrument 155 of 2024, organisations processing personal data of 50 or more people are required to hold a data controller licence and appoint a Data Protection Officer. Confirm your position with your legal adviser.

Can we keep using a cloud region outside Zimbabwe?

The Act allows transfers where the destination offers adequate protection, and organisations must notify POTRAZ. We document where your data is and what protects it so your DPO can file.

Do you replace our Data Protection Officer?

No. The DPO is a legal appointment inside your organisation. We provide the technical evidence and fix the technical gaps.

Do you hold security certifications?

Yes. Our engineers hold the ISC2 Certified in Cybersecurity credential.

Topic

Cloud cost optimisation

Still unsure? Ask us directly; you will get an answer from an engineer.

How much can we save?

We do not quote a percentage before seeing your bill. The review states exactly what we found and what each saving is worth.

Will cost cuts weaken security?

No. Controls needed for security and compliance are kept, though often made cheaper.

Do you only do AWS?

Our cost work is deepest on AWS. We also review Azure, Google Cloud and Hetzner bills; how far we can go depends on the billing access you have.

Do you need write access?

Not for the review. Changes are made only after you approve them.

Topic

Odoo ERP

Still unsure? Ask us directly; you will get an answer from an engineer.

Odoo Online, Odoo.sh or self-hosted?

Odoo Online is simplest but allows no custom modules. Odoo.sh supports custom code with managed hosting. Self-hosting gives full control and makes backups your job. We explain the trade-offs for your case.

Are you an Odoo partner?

[CONFIRM YOUR CURRENT ODOO PARTNER STATUS] You buy licences from Odoo or a reseller; we implement.

How long does an implementation take?

Weeks for a small roll-out; months for multi-company payroll and finance. You get a written estimate after discovery.

Can you fix an Odoo someone else set up?

Yes. We start with a read-only review so nothing breaks while we investigate.

Topic

AI and automation

Still unsure? Ask us directly; you will get an answer from an engineer.

Will AI replace our staff?

Our designs keep people in charge of decisions. AI handles reading and re-typing.

Where does our data go?

With Amazon Bedrock, requests are processed within the AWS environment you control. We document the data flow for your DPO.

How accurate is it?

Measured on your own historical examples during the pilot, with a threshold below which items always go to a person.

What does it cost to run?

It depends on volume and which model handles each item. We estimate it during the pilot with your real volumes.
